Tom Oscar Moore is a violist, fiddle player, guitarist and producer who grew up steeped in the traditional folk music of his native Norfolk. A former winner of the BBC Young Folk Award, his playing has been described as “irresistible” (The Independent) and “ingenious” (The Guardian).
Having spent the last 15 years performing all over Europe and at many of the UK’s top festivals and venues, more recently he has contributed as player, producer and engineer to a stack of albums from some of the brightest acts on the current UK folk scene.
In 2025 Tom is debuting his solo work, carefully blending ancient and new melodies, intertwining his signature mellow viola sound with a 1950s archtop guitar + valve amp combo. Expect fragments of old English folk tunes, echoes of early music and newly written material quilted together into a modern, more minimalist production.
You can catch a limited number of solo performances in 2025, to be announced.
